How often do you actually read the terms and conditions of anything when you sign an agreement? The likelihood of this rhetorical question is obviously NEVER! Unless of course, it's a free trial you have signed up for and you need to check the cancellation policy am I right? When it comes to life there is no agreement we need to check and not much in the way of moral and spiritual guidance to help us navigate our way through our physical experience on this earth. So we wanted to bring awareness to the terms and conditions of life as we see it, having the uncomfortable conversations that are needed to instigate positive change in all aspects of life. The T's and C's of life podcast was born out of the desire for change between two best friends who have a passion in two very different fields of expertise. Tanya works in mental health with young people, is studying towards a psychology degree, and is an advocate for change in our education system. She is passionate about the need for more diversity awareness in schools to help combat the racial biases our children are subjected to throughout their informative years. This led her to develop her company Panda Anti-Racism Team, or PART for short, which is working on supporting schools across the UK to improve their ability to tackle racism within its playgrounds and classrooms. Her co-host Claire is a bestselling author of the book Unleash Yourself - A Guide To Embracing Change And Following Your Bliss. Claire is a Mindset Mentor and runs an online community called The Mindset Mum where she mentors women in all aspects of positive thinking and how to bring balance to your life. She is passionate about our conscious behaviors and conversations both with our own peers but igniting the thirst for challenging conversations with our own children. Tanya and Claire have been growing their online audiences separately for some time but universal force has brought these two women together to share their perspectives with a combined force. They intend to have challenging conversations about all aspects of the terms and conditions of life from race to growth mindset and everything in between. There will always be an element of mindset and black v's white perspective to every conversation and we hope to inspire our listeners to have informed discussions with those nearest and dearest to them. We aim to keep our episodes around the 30 min marker as anything longer seems a chore to us as listeners of podcasts! We are both busy working mums and we want to keep to the point but from experience, our discussions can get heated and deep especially if we add alcohol to the mix, which is sooo tempting but as most recordings will occur during the day it will likely be a rare occasion you hear a pissed up version of T's & C's but hey, never say never! We will never be scripted, what you hear is an honest representation of us. There will be swearing, its who we are, and as the fabulous Billy Connely says "swearing is the poetry of the working class" Whether you have stumbled upon us or you hunted us down either way we hope you find what you're looking for with us and we are grateful for your ears and time. Please feel free to share your musings with us or even better share us with your world on social media using the share links available on your listening platform. Episode 35 - Illegal desire!
Friday Nov 26, 2021
Friday Nov 26, 2021
Welcome back listeners! Did you tune in to listen to last weeks episode from Jessica Harrington talking about her book 'The Girl In The Pink Shoes'? If not I highly recommend it. She has written about her experience of sexual abuse and how she made a life for herself after being subjected to years of abuse. It is one of our top 3 episodes of all time, check it out - Ep 34.
In this weeks episode, we are taking it a bit easier and winding things back for this ep in the shadow of last weeks huge story.
During this ep Claire and Tanya talk between themselves about the T's and C's of life recently, and among other things Tanya asks Claire what would she like to do that is illegal - her response was rather shocking and we queried whether to take it out or not.
Thanks for all your messages over social media and on the email, we love to hear from you guys, keep em coming tsandcspodcast@gmail.com
Love you all.

Episode 34 - The Girl In The Pink Shoes with Jessica Harrington
Friday Nov 19, 2021
Friday Nov 19, 2021
This weeks episode is a whopper. We were fortunate enough to talk to Jessica Harrington who is the author of 'The Girl In The Pink Shoes, which is a true story of childhood sexual abuse and child exploitation.
It is Jessica's own harrowing story of how she was abused by her stepdad under the nose of her mother, and the countless adults in her life who chose to turn a blind eye to what was happening right in front of them.
I don't want to give too much away in the show notes as this episode is an absolute must-listen if you want to educate yourself of the signs to look out for in the young people around you. This subject is so easy to turn away from as it is hard to accept that young people are being subjected to sexual abuse from people they are supposed to trust. The only people that not talking about this subject protects are the paedophiles and enablers who are allowing it to happen.
Jessica's book is out NOW and is currently just 99p on Kindle. The paperback version is available from WHSmith, Amazon and Waterstones.
Please connect with Jessica online and show your support by following her on Facebook @TheGirlInThePinkShoes
Jess is in the process of writing Part 2 which will be out in the new year.

Episode 32 - Our gift to you - listen to the end. Happy 1 year birthday!
Friday Nov 05, 2021
Friday Nov 05, 2021
You did it! You listened to us for long enough to get us to 1 year old - who knows what shit we will be talking about this time next year but we are fully committed to giving you more of what you like to listen to!
In this ep Claire and Tanya touch on many different subjects, as voted on by an exclusive group of our listeners! Many thanks to those of you who gave us suggestions! This is a bonus edition of the podcast at a meaty 1 hour and 40 mins - we have a lot to say and a lot of thanks to share with each and every one of you for listening to us over the last year.
I know you don't give to receive in return, that rule is set in stone of life, however, we would love it if you could share the podcast with a friend or if you feel so inspired to do so, share us on your social media platforms to help the podcast reach the wider audience it craves to speak to!
Happy Guy Fawkes night, maybe one day in another few hundred years there will be a night called 'Claire MacGillivray night', judging by all her loose suggestions of admiration for the guy and brainstorming of possible solutions to the climate crisis! You have got to listen to the ep to understand the reference!
Happy 1st birthday to the T's & C's of Life Podcast!

Friday Oct 29, 2021
Welcome back listeners!
We are 1 week away from our 1st birthday which conveniently falls on the weekend of our first sponsored episode! Happy birthday to us. I really want to claim the genius planning of this event but I just can't, it was simply the universe conspiring with us and making things happen! https://www.inthehiddencity.com/
In this weeks ep, Claire and Tanya are discussing Hope and what that looks like to different people all around the world and how simple words can invoke the feeling of Hope within us.
At the beginning of the ep Claire mentions the synchronicity of her introduction to the Monica Lewinski story and the series of weird events which have unfolded since she listened to the first episode from Just The Gist (https://open.spotify.com/episode/6EwKP3OXe0zeJheTzTENet?si=v3b4cvANSxe1EhTzkC_Niw). The docco that Monica is a producer of and which is currently on BBC2 at the moment, ep 2 just aired this week, there are 10 in total, is called 'Impeachment - American Crime Story' I sincerely urge you to check it out.
The link to Monica's Ted Talk is here https://www.ted.com/talks/monica_lewinsky_the_price_of_shame?language=en The price of shame, it is a meaty one and a lot of interesting points made in it, a great conversation starter!

We also touch on words and which ones speak to us, Claire mentions a ted talk which she has watched recently on the word 'cunt' and found it very intriguing. Have a watch of that here https://www.ted.com/speakers/kate_lister

Episode 29 - Black History Month amongst other things
Friday Oct 08, 2021
Friday Oct 08, 2021
In this weeks episode, Claire and Tanya go off on a bit of a tangent and go way off course on what was to be our topic this week! BUT as it is Black History Month we thought we would go with the flow and hit it while it was hot! Tanya abstains from getting ranty and gets her point across eloquently!
The podcast that Claire mentions is called Three Little Words by Johnn Bishop and Tony Pitts and the elusive word that drove her nuts was BOOGIEWOOGIE!! Highly recommend it for a listen.
You can contact Tanya for her work with P.A.R.T by clicking this link https://www.pandaantiracismteam.com/services
Thanks again for listening - we love you all.

Episode 28 - Living with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Friday Oct 01, 2021
Friday Oct 01, 2021
Welcome back to the podcast and this week we have a very special guest, none other than life long fan of the show HAYLEIGH MCBEAN on the show to talk to us about ASD.
Hayleigh's son was diagnosed early on with ASD and as a single mum at the time she struggled to adapt to this new world of parenting and social difference. Hayleigh has gone through it all from the side looks from onlookers to the feeling of isolation from loved ones. It has been one hell of a ride for her, but she is here today to educate us all in her delightfully elloquent way, on how to embrace those people in your lives or in the same space as you for a fleeting moment in time and help to them to feel included and unjudged.
Take it away Hayleigh!

Episode 27 - Why we need to start being more random in life!
Friday Sep 24, 2021
Friday Sep 24, 2021
Hey listeners!
Claire takes the reins on the podcast today and tries to convince Tanya that she needs to embrace randomization in her life if not least to impart some insight into the benefits of randomising your life a little (or a lot)
This concept is something that Claire has been playing with for years in some form or another without knowing or identifying it as 'conscious' behaviour. She mentions the pivotal moment when she watched the Ted Talk by Max Hawkins just a few months ago which gave meaning to the concept of just doing things randomly for the enrichment it gave to her life.
You can listen to the Ted Talk here https://www.ted.com/talks/max_hawkins_i_let_algorithms_randomize_my_life_for_two_years There is also transcription for those who prefer to read their Ted Talks!
There is not a huge deal of info on the web about randomising your life with a positive twist to it. To find anything of interest really you have to search for phrases like 'how to make my life less boring', 'how to be more adventurous' and 'how to be more interesting'. But if you look you can find some cool websites that can at least act as an assignment generator, so you assign numbers to your options then get the website to randomly generate a number and you run with that option. It's a teeny bit long-winded because you have to use biases to generate the options in the first place! Anyhoo we think there could be a book in it so watch this space!
Check out Max Hawkins website https://maxhawkins.me/ for options to generate a random playlist on Spotify and some other cool features for randomising your life a little.
Remember to keep in touch with us at the podcast tsandcspodcast@gmail.com send us your stories and suggestions, we love to hear from you!
We love you all and appreciate all the minutes of your day that you devote to listening to us!
